Scott Parazynski, an astronaut, physician, inventor, mountaineer, pilot and public speaker, will be the keynote speaker at the 2nd Annual Dresser-Rand Challenger Learning Center Celebration Dinner. The annual dinner, which is open to the public, follows last year's highly successful event that featured retired astronaut Col. Pamela Melroy as the guest of honor.
To make your reservation, contact the Challenger Learning Center at 716-379-8686 or email DRCLC director Tom Moser at Tom@DRCLC.org. Cost is $40 per person. Patron tickets are available for $50 each. Officials at Greater Olean Area Chamber of Commerce have set the 43rd Annual Greater Olean Area Chamber of Commerce Clambake for Chamber members and guests at Olean’s War Veterans Park, located at 551 East State Street, Olean (across from Bradner Stadium). This festive gathering represents the traditional start of the summer season in our community and offers fun, fine food and prizes for all. Music, games and loads of prizes are also a part of the Clambake.
Chamber member, the Old Library Restaurant, will be catering the event, which runs from 3:30 - 8:30 PM. The restaurant will serve up Beef on Wyck, Clams casino, Clam chowders, sausage sandwiches, BBQ Chicken, Hot Dogs, and BBQ Ribletts. The menu will also include clams (raw and steamed), peel n’ eat shrimp, Sturbridge stuffed clams, New Orlean’s steamed crawfish, peel and eat shrimp, Italian style meatballs, fruit, summer salads, ice cream sundae bar, chocolate fondue copper kettle, and more.
Tickets are for Chamber members and guests at $33 per person if purchased by June 1, with the cost of $38 per ticket June 2.

From the North—Cross the Peace Bridge and take Interstate 90 West (NYS Thruway). Take Exit 55 to Route 219 South. Follow 219 for 50 miles to Ellicottville, take Route 242 West one mile to HoliMont.

The Olean-area community is invited to lace up their sneakers and join the St. Bonaventure community in a recreational 5K run/walk on the Allegheny River Valley Trail. The 5K Run/Walk will be held Saturday, Sept. 25, and will begin at the SBU tennis courts at the west entrance to the university.
Check-in begins at 7:30 a.m. followed by the run/walk at 8:30 a.m. The 5K is sponsored by BonaFit, St. Bonaventure’s employee wellness program.
There is no registration fee, but a 50/50 will be held to benefit The Warming House, a St. Bonaventure student-run soup kitchen in Olean.
