The series of six Wednesday gatherings will be on the retreat’s hilltop acreage in Allegany County, some 25 miles from the St. Bonaventure University campus.
What began as a summertime retreat housed in an off-campus dormitory on Union Street in Allegany has grown into a sprawling hilltop community of friars devoted to providing a place for spiritual reflection. The 387-acre site includes a large community house, a chapel, cabins and 10 miles of trails.

The City of Olean’s Annual Fourth of July Fireworks Celebration is set for July 4, at Bradner Stadium in Olean. The fireworks are organized by the Olean Professional Firefighters Association, OPFFA. The Fireworks Celebration will once again have an exciting inside-the-stadium show. Young Fireworks of Rochester, this year’s fireworks company, plan on shooting many inside displays. Many fun family activities are also scheduled for those inside the stadium.
